A mono epoxy flexibilizer cum reactive diluents
Epoxy Diluent C is a mono epoxy flexibilizer and reactive diluent. It is compatible with Epoxy Resin 520, Epoxy resin 505 , Epoxy Resin 400 and has excellent stability at room temperature as well as lower temperatures.
Application
- Epoxy Diluent C is Suggested for casting and potting application. Specially when sharp comered metal inserts causessevere mechanical stresses and cracking.
- Epoxy Diluent C is suggested in coating application for improved flexibility of cured film and lowering of viscosity of the mixture.
- Epoxy Diluent C is also recommended for preparing laminating resin mixture for improved wettability with glass fiber.
Processing Method
- Formulating the flexibilized resin system
- Diluent C in required proportion is first added to DGEBA epoxy resin and mixed thoroughly to give a homogeneous mixture. Hardner is then added to the Mixture any type of hardner is suitable for DGEBA epoxy resin + Diluent C blends. Since Diluent C is a monoepoxy ,its epoxy equivalent weight must be considered in determining the correct proportion of hardner for flexibilized resin systems.
- Additional quantity of hardner required for Dileunt C addition is indicate in table 1.
- Liquid hardners such as a Epoxy Hardner PAM , Epoxy hardner PA , Epoxy Hardner 140 etc are added at room temperature to DGEBA resin + Diluent C mixture.

Safe Handling
- Diluent C is hardly effect on the skin & mucus membrane however direct contact with skin should be avoided by using rubber gloves & goggles . Affected areas of skin should be scrubbed with 5%of acetic acid and washed with plenty of water and soap.
